Returns & Refunds
Every product we sell is custom-manufactured to your specific color and model selections. We start your print as soon as your order comes in. There's no shelf of finished inventory to restock from. For that reason, we do not accept returns or issue refunds for:
- Change of mind after the order is placed.
- Incorrect color, part, or model selections made by the customer at checkout.
- General dissatisfaction with the look or feel of FDM 3D printing as a manufacturing process.
- Layer lines, light stringing, support marks, and other normal cosmetic characteristics of FDM printing (see "What's Normal" below).
If you're unsure whether a model is right for you, the Customer Gallery and the live 3D color preview in the Shop show what real prints look like in different color combinations. We'd much rather you spend an extra minute customizing than discover something at unboxing.
We inspect every order before it ships. If anything wouldn't make us proud to send it out the door, we reprint it. That said, sometimes things go wrong in transit or in our own queue. When they do, we'll fix it on us:
FDM 3D printing has visible characteristics that are part of the process, not flaws. Knowing the difference helps everyone:
Normal (not eligible for replacement):
- Visible layer lines. The look of stacked print layers is core to the FDM aesthetic.
- Light stringing or wisps between parts, usually trimmable with scissors or a hobby knife.
- Small support marks where supports were removed.
- Minor color variation between batches of the same filament.
- Slight seam lines where each layer's print path starts and ends.
Defects (eligible, contact us):
- Cracked, snapped, or unprintable structural parts.
- Missing pieces or parts that won't assemble.
- Color completely different from what you selected.
- Wrong model entirely.
Why so tight? Most damage reports we can verify only by photos of the original packaging and the print as it came out of the box. Once an item has been handled, opened multiple times, displayed, or moved around, it gets impossible to tell a shipping incident from later wear. Same-day photos protect both of us.
If you're going to be away on the day your order is delivered, ship to an address where someone can open and inspect it on the day of arrival. We do not control USPS delivery windows.
The fastest way is to send us a message through the contact form with all of the following:
- Your order number (format like AB12CD34, which is in your order confirmation email).
- Clear photos showing the issue: outer packaging, inner packaging, and the affected print(s).
- A short description of what's wrong.
We respond within one business day. If the report is approved, the reprint goes into our queue the same day and ships under our normal turnaround (3–5 business days for most orders).
Because we start your print as soon as your order comes in, cancellations are only possible before printing has started. If you need to cancel, contact us immediately, and we'll cancel and refund in full if your print hasn't started yet. Once a print is in progress, the order is final.
If you ordered the wrong color or wrong model and reach out within the first hour or two, there's a good chance we can catch it in time. The longer you wait, the less likely we can intervene.
Once a package is in USPS hands, risk of loss passes to the customer. We are not responsible for:
- Packages marked delivered by USPS but reported missing (porch theft).
- Packages delayed by USPS, weather, or other carrier-side issues.
- Packages delivered to an address you entered incorrectly at checkout.
That said, if USPS loses a package outright (no delivery scan), let us know. We'll help you open a USPS claim and, depending on the situation, may reprint at our cost. Each case is judgment-based.
If something's wrong with your order, please contact us first. We can almost always make it right faster than a chargeback can. Per our Terms of Service, chargebacks filed without first contacting us result in a permanent ban from our store.
This page is the customer-facing summary of our return policy. The legally binding version lives in §04 of our Terms of Service. For shipping rates, regions, and timing, see the Shipping Info page.
